Humanities impact on the oceans is undeniable. Fisheries are the most direct threat with sharks and rays often falling victim to targeted and by-catch fisheries. It is certainly not the most glamorous side of marine biology and conservation but the front line of the plight of these species. Documenting the fisheries and the researchers that study them helps bring this largely unseen work to the general public.
