CETACEANS

There are around 90 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises that make up the cetacean order. They range from the tiny 1.5m Vaquita up to the largest animal on earth - the 30m Blue Whale. Many of these air-breathing mammals have faced challenges over recent decades with large-scale industrial whaling for food and oil hitting reaching a peak. Currently, targetted and bycatch fisheries, vessel strikes, noise & chemical pollution, and impacts on their prey due to the climate crisis are still threatening many cetacean species.
